Currently, the University of Tokyo comprises 10 Faculties, 15 Graduate Schools, 11 affiliated research institutes (including the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology), 13 University-wide centers, three affiliated libraries and two institutes for advanced study. Furthermore, the Faculties, Graduate Schools and research institutes have facilities associated with them; for instance, the University of Tokyo Hospital is one such facility. In addition to the three main campuses in Hongo, Komaba and Kashiwa, facilities affiliated with the University of Tokyo are spread all throughout Japan.
As you know, the pandemic has disrupted our educational endeavor in many ways and we have been most disappointed by the disruption of the student exchange with our partners.
In order to enable the students of the world to experience the University of Tokyo safely in this environment, we are launching a new short-term online academic program “UTokyo Global Unit Courses (UTokyo GUC)” in the summer of 2021.
We are pleased to inform you that we are launching a new short-term online academic program “UTokyo Global Unit Courses (UTokyo GUC)” in the summer of 2021 and now open for UGM students.
How long is the program?
The courses are completed in one week and the students will be granted 0.5 to 1 unit, depending on the number of hours per course.
How much does it cost?
The program fee is JPY 50,000 per unit.

Eligibility
- Undergraduate Students (S1) or Postgraduate Students (S2)
- Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
- Be proficient in English. Non-native English speakers must have a score of at least IELTS 6.0, B2, TOEFL 550 or equivalent)

Application Procedure
- Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication and no later than March 8th, 2021.
- OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to University of Tokyo and you may proceed to the online application
- The FINAL decision from University of Tokyo
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
- In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id).
- Application of outgoing mobility for Fall/odd semester in AY 2021/2022 will be processed but the implementation/execution will carefully consider the latest development of COVID-19 and government’s regulation.
