Titled “Managing Environmental and Resource Challenges and Thinking about Climate Futures” We invite you to attend this conference to enhance your knowledge about Indonesia – Australia Bilateral Partnership!

This year, researchers, academics, practitioners, and experts from Australia and Indonesia will gather in a series of panel discussions on 20 & 21 July, 2022. April lalu, GEO FISIPOL UGM menyelenggarakan sharing session bersama Sandy Maulana Yusuf, salah satu alumni UGM yang merupakan awardee DIKTI Bridging Course 2021. Dalam kesempatan ini, GEO FISIPOL akan membahas mengenai serba-serbi Bridging Course dan keuntungannya untuk mahasiswa serta alumni!

DIKTI Bridging Course merupakan program persiapan untuk meningkatkan peluang mendapatkan beasiswa studi di berbagai universitas di luar negeri. Alasan khusus mengapa Bridging Course DIKTI diselenggarakan karena syarat untuk menembus beasiswa dan universitas luar negeri yakni cukup tinggi, seperti nilai IELTS yang harus melebihi 6.5.

Selain itu, dalam proses proses pendaftaran S2 luar negeri diperlukan motivation letter—personal statement— yang menjadi titik penting dalam program persiapan untuk mengikuti studi lanjut di luar negeri. 

Tahun ini, DIKTI Bridging Course memiliki persyaran sebagai berikut :

  2. Have a bachelor degree or a active student in Indonesia’s Universities

[Taiwan] 2022 Taiwan Experience Education Program

Dear Students!

Taiwan’s Ministry of Education launched the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP) in 2015 to encourage more international students to participate in short-term professional internship projects organized by Taiwanese universities and colleges. TEEP also allows international students to gain an in-depth educational experience in Taiwan, while also preparing themselves for the Asian job market.

TEEP programs are also available in emerging fields such as Information Communication Technology (ICT), Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain Technology, Semiconductors, 5G Wireless Communications, Advanced Manufacturing, Smart Manufacturing, Robotics, Green Energy, Biosensors, Logistics Management, Molecular Biology and Smart Health Care, as well as Mandarin Language Training or Cultural Experience Courses.

The wide range of programs under TEEP provides students from all backgrounds opportunities to immerse themselves in the operations of key Taiwan companies and industries. Moreover, TEEP helps students find relevant and useful job placements at various companies. In these positions, students will gain firsthand knowledge that will put them well on their way in the business world. To ease participants into their internships in Taiwan, TEEP also features cultural immersion activities to improve language and cultural fluency. All participants are provided with high-quality dormitory accommodations, as well as opportunities to learn to speak Mandarin Chinese.

The Archi-Cultural Summer Program is not only for students majoring in architecture but it is also suitable for students majoring in other courses. This is to allow the students to familiarize with the unique architecture Malaysia has to offer and also the diverse culture in Malaysia that is available.

[PHILIPPINES] 2022 Adaptive Design for Learning (ADL) Online Course

Greetings from the United Board!

 

We are pleased to inform you that the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (United Board) is offering a faculty development opportunity through the Adaptive Design for Learning (ADL), a professional certificate course of the Ateneo de Manila Institute for the Science and Art of Learning and Teaching (SALT Institute). The 2022 ADL for United Board related institutions will run from 4 July through 30 September 2022.

ADL aligns with the philosophy of Whole Person Education, as shown in its concern for students’ total development, active learning and full engagement. The course includes six asynchronous modules and six synchronous webinars. In view of the shift to hybrid/hyflex teaching at some institutions, this year’s ADL will include certain strategies in such a setting.

A certificate of completion will be awarded to participants who shall have: (a) submitted all six assignments, including an action plan; and (b) posted at least 3 of 5 module exit tickets. After completion, course takers are expected to submit reflections and action plans to the United Board.

The United Board will cover the ADL course fee for the selected applicants. Selection will be based on the need and purpose of educators and their institutions and the quality of the application.

[Thailand] Chulalongkorn University’s Graduate Scholarship Programme for ASEAN or Non-ASEAN Countries

Chulalongkorn University’s Graduate Scholarship Programme for ASEAN or Non-ASEAN Countries 2022 is open for International Students. The scholarship offers PhD and Masters level programme(s) in the field of All Subjects taught at Chulalongkorn University. The deadline of the scholarship is June 10, 2022.

Term of the Scholarships:

  1. Two-year Master’s degree scholarship;
  2. Three-year Doctoral degree scholarships;

Available Subjects:

Following subject are available to study under this scholarship program.

  • All Subjects

Eligible Nationalities:

ASEAN or Non-ASEAN Countries

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Applicants must be international graduate students from ASEAN or Non-ASEAN countries.
  2. Faculty members, researchers and academic staff, who will return to teach/work at their home universities after graduation from Chulalongkorn University, are preferred.
  3. It should be noted that students from ASEAN or Non-ASEAN countries, who have been studying in any program at Chulalongkorn University for more than one semester, are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  4. Applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in a field related to the field for which they are applying. A degree certificate and an official academic transcript must be submitted with their application.
  5. Applicants must have obtained a grade point average of not lower than 2.75 for their undergraduate studies and not lower than 3.25 for their graduate studies.
  6. Applicants must be not be over 40 years of age (as of June 9, 1982)
  7. Applicants must have a good command of English. A minimum TOEFL score of 500 (paper-based) or 173 (computer-based) or IELTS score of 5.0 is required.
  8. Applicants must be in good health.

  1. Applicants must send the completed application form and relevant documents directly to the Faculty/programme of their choice before the deadline set by the University’s Office of Academic Affairs. Scholarship Benefits:

The scholarships will cover the following:

  • An economy class, round-trip ticket, as actually paid. It should also be noted that for students from ASEAN, the airfare for each leg of the trip must not exceed 8,500 Baht; For students from Asian countries, the airfare for each leg of the trip must not exceed 12,000 Baht; For students from Europe, Australia, and New Zealand as well as Africa, the airfare of each leg must not exceed 20,000 Baht; For students from North and South America, the airfare for each leg must not exceed 30,000 Baht.
  • Tuition fees (tuition fees for the faculty/special fees charged by the Faculty or the Programme of the students’ choice are excluded. Advanced arrangement between the students and the Faculty/Programme is needed).
  • A monthly stipend and accommodation in the amount of 16,000 Baht.

  2. A curriculum vitae,
  3. An academic transcript issued by the last academic institution that the applicant attended,

[United Kingdom] STEAR : Studying in China

The Student Think Tank for Europe-Asia Relations (STEAR) is pleased to invite you to one of their upcoming events!

 

STEAR (www.stearthinktank.com) aims to be the first and leading youth policy institute to strengthen relations and deepen cultural ties all over Europe and Asia.

They will be hosting the Studying in China Panel. During their hour-long panel discussion, participants will have the chance to speak to our panelists about the admissions process, life in Beijing, differences from undergraduate to postgraduate life, and everything in between.

The panel will feature four scholars and one moderator:

  1. Luke Cavanaugh – Schwarzman Scholar: Luke is a recent first-class graduate of the University of Cambridge and is currently based in Beijing as a Schwarzman Scholar. Alongside founding his own consulting firm at university, he has taken executive positions at several think tanks, including as co-President of STEAR. Elsewhere, Luke has experience working in business and the public sector, and is currently attempting to synergise the two in his work at the British Chamber of Commerce in Beijing and as one of eight young people on the ITU’s Global Visionaries Board. After graduation, Luke will join the Boston Consulting Group in London.
  2. Dao Nguyen – Yenching Scholar: Dao Nguyen is a Yenching Scholar and Baixian Asia Future Leader at Yenching Academy, Peking University. After finishing the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Program as an Erasmus Mundus Scholar, he is selected as the EANGAGE Research Follow of the European Union in Singapore. Currently, he is working as the Consultant and Global Youth Trainer on Meaningful Youth Engagement at UNESCO Paris. Dao is passionate about international cooperation, social inclusion, and digital connectivity. At STEAR, he hopes to enhance youth participation in public policy and strengthen cultural exchanges between Europe and Asia.
  3. Mingqi Xie – Schwarzman Scholar: Mingqi is a 6th cohort Schwarzman Scholar. She graduated from Tsinghua University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and International Relations. She interned at the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs, where she drafted the first “Hypersonic Weapons Global Awareness” online education program. Her previous experiences include the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center, South Centre (Geneva), Seoul National University, World Peace Forum, International Conflict and Security Consulting, and Daimler. She also works as Forum Alpbach Network Ambassador China. Mingqi devotes great effort to youth engagement in international dispute resolution.
  4. Daniel Tafelski – Yenching Scholar: Daniel is from Germany but was born and raised in Shanghai, China. He graduated from Humboldt University of Berlin with a BS in Economics and studied Political Science at UC Berkeley as a Fulbright scholar. He has worked in public sector consulting and strategy consulting as well as the German and European Parliament, deepening his understanding of the challenges faced by businesses and governments. He comes from a background of advising startups, NGOs, and multinationals and has worked in academia as well the social-impact space throughout Asia. Daniel is a Yenching Scholar at Peking University, studying towards a Master’s in China Studies where he focuses on researching EU-China relations. He is also involved in organising the Yenching Academy’s flagship international conference, the Yenching Global Symposium.
  5. Cherry Yu (Moderator) – Double Master’s Degree in International Affairs, Peking University and London School of Economics: Cherry is currently pursuing a double master’s degree in International Affairs at Peking University and the London School of Economics, having recently obtained her bachelor’s degree in European Social and Political Studies from University College London. She participated in the Young Ambassadors Programme at the Carnegie-Tsinghua Centre and is currently a research assistant at Tsinghua Centre for US-China Relations, assisting Professor Chen Qi of Tsinghua University with publications on China’s rise and US-China relations with a concentration on technology, climate governance and foreign investment.
