[Japan] Meiji University – Exchange Student Program
Warm Greetings from Meiji University, Japan!
Meiji University was founded in January 1881 as the Meiji Law School by a group of young lawyers barely in their 30’s. It was an era characterized by Japan’s urgent need to develop as a modern independent nation. The three founded the Meiji Law School in their fervent hope to “foster bright capable youths who would lead modern civil society in Japan”. Until now, Meiji University has expanded to become one of the most prominent private universities in Japan, and it is celebrating its 140th anniversary in 2021.
We are pleased to inform you that the application for Meiji University Fall Exchange Student Program 2021 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.
Meiji University offer few program ranging from undergraduate program up to graduate program:

Eligibility
- Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
- Undergraduate students (S1) or Postgraduate students (S2)
- Be proficient in English. Proved by English certificate
- Must have minimum GPA 3.2 of 4.0
Required Documents
- Online application (after nominated)
- The housing request form (after nominated)
- Signature of applicant and the exchange student program coordinator (after nominated)
- Certificate of health (after nominated)
- Application for certificate of eligibility (after nominated)
- Study plan (download) / Research Plan (download)
- Official academic transcripts
- English language proficiency (Min. Score of TOEFL – ITP=530, iBT 80 or IELTS 6.0)
- Letter of Recommendation from the academic advisor
- Curriculum Vitae
- Motivation Letter
- Confirmation Letter of Participation (download)
- Certificate of Enrollment from faculty
- Colored copy of passport
- Passport-size photo (4 pieces, 3.5 x 4.5 cm, white background color, taken within the past three months)
- Letter of Nomination from faculty (*addressed to Head of Office of International Affairs)
- Japanese Language proficiency (*if any)
Application Procedure
- Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication and no later than February 10th, 2021.
- OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to Meiji University and you may proceed to the online application
- The FINAL decision from Meiji University
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
- In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
- Application of outgoing mobility for spring/even semester in AY 2020/2021 will be processed but the implementation/execution will carefully consider the latest development of COVID-19 and government’s regulation
