[International Visitation] Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands

On Friday (19/05/2023), Global Engagement Office FISIPOL UGM hosted an international visit from 30 policy advisors of the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands.
The visitation included a discussion and short lectures from two lecturers of FISIPOL UGM and an advisor of the ministry. Yulida Nuraini Santoso, M.Sc, the manager of the Global Engagement Office FISIPOL UGM led the discussion.

The discussion started with a short presentation from Prof. Wahyudi Kumorotomo, the head of Department of Public Policy and Management. He explained his findings about the Policy on Electric Vehicles in Indonesia.

Dr. Muhammad Sulhan spoke next. He is a senior lecturer at the Department of Communication Studies and now heading DECODE (Digital Media and Communication Research Center). He presented the Politics and Policy Communication in Indonesia to the audience.

The third speaker and also a representative from the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands is Nienke Landman. She is now an advisor on social benefits expenditure at the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands. She showed the audience the Social Policies and Upcoming Challenges in the Netherlands.

The discussion was very engaging as there were many questions thrown by the audience which consisted of delegates and young researchers from FISIPOL UGM. There were many similar realities faced by both countries when it came to solving social and political challenges in the society.

Ritsumeikan have started recruiting process for overseas applicants who wish to study at one of our graduate schools from September 2023 with the assistance of Japanese Government funded scholarship.
