Our second Cross Cultural Understanding Club Meeting was held on Thursday, March 03, 2016 in Room BA113 Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM. In this meeting we discussed about Indonesian Culture and Etiquette, Learning Basic Bahasa Indonesia as well as playing traditional games in the end of the session.
Cross Cultural Understanding Club (CCUC) is a program that was designed by the Global Engagement Office (GEO) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Gadjah Mada University. The purpose of this program is to engage the international students with the local students of the university in many aspects, mainly in cultural exchange and understanding aspect. This feature of interchanging cultures is one of the highlights of the Global Engagement Office’s agenda because it is seen as one of the office’s forms of hospitality for the newcomer international students, as well as to show the involvement of the faculty in the international level of cooperation.
Cross Cultural Understanding Club (CCUC) is one of the extracurricular programs initiated by Global Engagement Office (GEO) Fisipol UGM which aims to facilitate the cultural exchange activities among international and local students in Fisipol UGM. Cultural exchange is an important aspect for GEO because it is a part of faculty internationalization program as well as a form of hospitality for international students who study in Fisipol UGM. The program is held every semester with regular weekly meeting and different activity in each meeting. All activities in CCUC are designed not only to introduce Indonesian cultures to international students, but also to give opportunity for Indonesian students to learn other countries’ cultures and develop their English skill.
