Along with the enactment of ASEAN Economic Community this year, it is essential for students and professional staffs to be more aware about the importance of international exposure to improve their capacity in facing regional and global tight competition. To embrace this challenge and expand the opportunity, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has built partnership with several universities, research centers, and NGOs all around the world. But unfortunately, there is a main barrier for students or staffs to involve in this process which is the difficulty to get the information needed. As the results, there are a lot of missed opportunities that make the main goal of the internationalization process was not fulfilled.
The KGSP (Korean Government Scholarship Program) is a scholarship program sponsored by the NIIED (National Institute for International Education) and designed to provide higher education in Korea for international students in the aim of promoting international exchange in education and mutual friendship amongst the participating countries.
Our second Cross Cultural Understanding Club Meeting was held on Thursday, March 03, 2016 in Room BA113 Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM. In this meeting we discussed about Indonesian Culture and Etiquette, Learning Basic Bahasa Indonesia as well as playing traditional games in the end of the session.

On March 2nd 2016, Dr.Hassan Wirajuda, the foreign minister of Indonesia (2001-2009) visited Universitas Gadjah Mada to give a special lecture about “Ineffective World Order, the Urgency to Establishing Regional Order and Sustaining the Nation-State: Implication Toward Indonesia” at Seminar Room Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Universitas Gadjah Mada. This Ambassadorial lecture held by Global Engagement Office aims to encourage students to broaden their perspective about the international politics and learn the expertise’s experience. The ambassadorial lecture moderate by the senior lecturer in Department of International Relations, Dr. Siti Muti’ah Setiawati.
The Okazaki Kaheita International Scholarship Foundation (The Foundation) was established in March 1990 to contribute to world peace and development by fostering people from the People’s Republic of China and other countries in Asia. This foundation strives to promote mutual understanding and international exchange as well as to pay homage to and immortalize the spirit of Okazaki Kaheita, a man who worked for mutual understanding, peace, and world friendship.
In order to promote friendship between Japan and Asian countries and to further the personal development of people in these countries, the foundation provides scholarships to students from Asian countries who wish to study in graduate schools in Japan.
