Flinders University Short Course Program in Yogyakarta

The Flinders University Short Course Program in Yogyakarta was organized by Global Engagement Office, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM on 25 – 30 January 2016 and collaborated with Flinders University Australia. It was designed for Flinders University students to deepen their understanding about Indonesia as one of prominent countries for Australia. Global Engagement office prepared several exciting programs such as lectures on Indonesian politics, economy, social and culture, practicing Javanese traditional dance and gamelan, visitation to Tamansari and Ullen Sentalu museum, and also volunteering at Project Child Indonesia as one of Non-governmental Organizations in Yogyakarta. Hopefully, by learning from Indonesian professors, exploring Indonesian culture and heritage, and directly interacting with the local people, the participants would be more enthusiastic and eager to learn further about Indonesia. More importantly, this program could open larger opportunity for Australian and Indonesian students to exchange their knowledge and culture as well as became a stepping stone to increase people-to-people understanding between Indonesia and Australia.
